I’ve wanted to be a writer since I was 10 years old. That’s a very long time to hold onto a dream.
After almost a quarter of a century (god, I’m so old), my first book will be published in May.
But I still work a regular job and struggle to fit writing time into my day. I’m not sure that will ever get any easier.
It is easy to get caught up in the process: the treadmill of work, book promotion, work, book promotion, on and on.
It’s easy to let it get on top of you.
So I want to remember why I’m still doing this, despite how hard it is and the time it takes.
I’ve always wanted to be a writer; it’s a part of who I am.
Even if no one reads my book, or it gets bad reviews, at least there’ll be something I can hold in my hand; something that I created.
That’s a dream come true.
Maybe you had a dream, one that you let go of a long time ago. Perhaps there’s still possibility there, for joy or fulfilment.
That’s worth holding onto. It’s something to remember.

Write a book or a blog is one of my dreams. I wanted to become a teacher when I was a kid and today I tell it to my pupils. They have to dream and hold onto it.
